Giving you the greatest flexibility of pricing ensures customer satisfaction. Editing and proofreading services are available by the word, by the page, by the hour, or by the project. Most of our clients want to know up front how much the proofreading project will cost. Below is a list of our proofreading rates, with many options to suit your time and budget.

- By the Word - Pricing by the word enables the client to know exactly in advance how much a project will cost. Using MS Word format, the Word Count option will give the total number of words.

- By the Page - Pricing by the page is done when the document uses double-spaced, 12-point fonts and word counts do not exceed 250. Documents that are not in this format will be priced separately.

- By the Hour - An hourly rate is charged for projects that are hard to quote. Examples of documents that make estimating difficult include:
- Foreign Language Editing and Proofreading
- Legal Documents
- Medical Documents
- Technical Documents
- Other Non-Standard Documents or Material

- By the Project - For those clients with a fixed budget and an estimable project, we can quote by the job. This way no one needs to count pages, words, or keep track of time.

Thorough Proofreading
All proofreading services are performed at least twice by the same proofreader: one read-through produces red-lining marks and a second read-through on the accepted version (the version with the proofreader's red-lined changes incorporated into the document) is performed.
Second Set of Eyes
Many clients opt to have a "second set of eyes" on their documents as part of the proofreading process. We have several proofreaders available as a Second Set of Eyes on the accepted version of your material; you will greatly benefit from having a completely different proofreader read through the accepted version and give his or her comments. This is especially recommended for legal, medical, and technical documents. This option costs two cents per word.

Format and Turnaround Time
We use MS Word for most editing and proofreading services with the 'Track Changes' option. This will put red lines over the words we are changing and show the newly entered corrections. When you receive the proofread version, all you need to do is select 'Accept Changes' to have our modifications become permanent. Hard copy proofreading is also available, for those without online access or electronic versions.
The Proofreaders can begin work on most projects within 36-72 business hours after receiving the deposit and documents needing proofreading and/or editing services. For RUSH projects, a surcharge of 10% will be added to the total cost of the editing and proofreading services.
Can't Decide?
When priced by the hour, you benefit by our speed and skill and only pay for time spent editing and proofreading your document. When priced by the project, you know well in advance what your costs will be. No one has to keep track of time or hours. Some clients are more comfortable with a per-word or per-page rate, but most agree these options, in the long run, cost the customer the most.
